After losing her job, Desiree Turner returns to work at her family’s funeral parlor where she expects to find peace and quiet. Suddenly Desiree is caught between feuding neighbors Rosemarie and Lola after Rosemarie’s husband, Alan, is brought into the funeral parlor to be buried and Lola’s husband, Kyle, is arrested for the murder. Desiree knows Kyle isn’t capable of such a crime. Using her journalist skills, Desiree digs into Alan’s secret life and discovers a disgruntled mistress and mysterious assets left in her name.

Desiree is struggling to establish who she’s become now that she’s returned home, but she’s quickly pulled into the past, navigating possible feelings for an ex-boyfriend and a childhood nickname she’d do anything to run away from. The plot is split between two mysteries: the murder of Alan and the framing of Kyle, and the lighter mystery of charms left for Desiree and her sister, and a possible connection to the gifts left for her best friend. Set in a funeral parlor, A Grave Issue is full of heart and family strength with themes of life and death, love and loss as Desiree fights to protect those she loves.

A Grave Issue is the first book in the /Funeral Parlor Mystery/ series.
