A Season to Celebrate

We rated this book:

A Season to Celebrate was a diverse set of holiday romance novellas. I enjoy romances, so I figured holiday romances would be even better–super comforting and festive like a cup of warm cider.

For the most part, these stories fit the bill. I felt like the first one, A Christmas Homecoming was rushed and little too bit “aw, shucks” for me. But the geography and characters of the whole collection were very diverse, ranging from Seattle to Puerto Rico. The second story in the collection, “An Unexpected Gift,” was probably my favorite, featuring a soon to be couple whose children are grown and could use some celebrating themselves. The third story in the collection, “Christmas in Blue Hollow Falls,” I also felt was a bit contrived, but the setting was great. I also really enjoyed the final story, “Holiday Home Run,” it was bicultural and featured a Latina heroine and focused on following your heart in more ways than one.
