Animal Noses

We rated this book:

There is nothing more universally interesting for youngsters than the animal world. Taking a really close look at something most animals have, (insects don’t have real noses) and something kids have as well is only going to make children sit up and take notice, doing some good learning along the way. That is exactly what this book does. Animal noses come in many shapes and sizes and are used for more than simply breathing and smelling what’s for dinner, as humans do. Some animals seem to have superpowers — being able to use their noses to find food miles away or hidden beneath thick ice. Many animals use their noses to find mates or to get information on what animals have been in the neighborhood. The book is not text-heavy but has a good amount of information written in kid-friendly, lively language. The information is not only educational but great fun to read. Wonderful full-color, close-up photographs grace every page and will keep youngsters’ eyes glued to those pages. Back matter has some fun facts and a bit of a puzzle to keep the learning going. This is terrific.
