LOCAL AUTHOR
If you want to give more one will learn how to better from Carol Weisman in Becoming one of the Grateful Dead with the subtitle: Where there’s a will, there’s a way. One can find out more about her from her blog BoardBuilder.com which highlights her expertise in a number of related areas. This, however, is also not about Woodstock or a Grateful Dead story as the title suggests. Instead, a collection of stories of kind folks who sought to help the people around them, and the causes that concerned them.
There are all sorts of ways to help, with people giving from all different sorts of situations. Included in this slim volume are thirteen different inspirational stories, as well as a Giving Questionnaire. Not a lot of guilt here as a motivator also. Giving also does not only mean money, with some volunteering, and others providing guidance or friendship. There is also family and all the loved ones to consider. The world and others definitely need your help, even the music and literary world. There have been many kind people, but more are needed. Weisman reminds and advises: The bottom line, it isn’t a fair world. Through our philanthropy, we can give people a hand, we can preserve and create art forms we love, we can help make the environment a better place for everyone…and the list goes on. Pick whatever makes sense to you and give generously.
