But I Don’t Eat Ants

This is a book written by an anteater. He loves food, and he eats just about anything, but not ants. Which is kind of funny, because as the name says, he should eat ants. Although, he notices, no other animals have what they eat in their name, so they are not really told what to eat–they can eat what they want. With him being an anteater and not liking ants, everyone thinks he’s weird. He would eat with the ants, as friends to share a meal, but not the ants. The book lists a lot of foods, with very funny pictures, that the anteater likes. There are also a lot of jokes that I loved, and now I tell my friends, “I eat ANTIpasto but not ANTS.” The story ends when mom serves something different that he likes…fire ants. Those he’ll be happy to eat! It happens to me, too–I eat pretty much everything, but sometimes I say I don’t like something until it’s prepared in a different way, and then I love it.
