Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery: A Novel

We rated this book:

Polly is the owner of Little Beach Street Bakery. She lives in a lighthouse in an isolated beach town in England with her boyfriend, Huckle. They’re engaged, but Polly isn’t in any hurry to walk down the aisle since she comes from a messed up family. She never knew her father–her mother won’t speak of him and wasn’t particularly affectionate. But it’s all okay because Polly loves her work at the bakery, the town she lives in, the Puffin she keeps, and Huckle. Things start to get complicated when Polly’s best friend, Kerensa, confides in her about “The Very Bad Thing.” It threatens to tear Polly’s friendship apart, as well as her relationship with Huckle. What’s a Puffin-loving baker to do?

This book is as warm and cozy as the bakery it describes. Although the action takes place during Christmastime, this is by no means a Christmas book. It can easily be read and enjoyed any time of year by anyone looking for a light, easy read about friendship, love, and forgiveness. Polly deals with a lot of family drama in this book, but she’s grounded by a refreshingly healthy and loving relationship with Huckle. The perfect book to warm your heart.
