Deadly Little Scandals (Debutantes Book 2)
Sawyer Taft joined the Debutantes to find her father, but the answers she found have only raised more questions. Joining her extended family at the lake gives her the opportunity to join the White Gloves, a secret society comprised of incoming college girls within a tri-state area who will carry the torch and continue its secretive mission throughout college. This is very important to Sawyer’s best friend, Lily.
Some of the challenges are harmless, like diving off a cliff into dark water; others are emotionally terrifying, at least for Sawyer, like hanging out with Nick, her brief crush, for the afternoon. When a body is found during one of their meetings, Sawyer discovers that there are more secrets in her family than there are jewels in her grandmother’s safe.
Sawyer’s down-to-earth roots combined with her extended family’s Southern heritage make for witty dialogue and unfathomable twists and turns. Though the mission and history of the White Gloves remains unclear, it creates the perfect vehicle for exploring the lake area and answering the new questions that arise. Unfortunately, the Debutantes series concludes with this title, and many readers will be sad to say goodbye to Sawyer and her dysfunctional but perfectly poised Southern family.
