Everything She Feared: A Suspense Novel
When Sara’s daughter’s babysitter falls off the edge of a cliff with only her daughter as witness, Everything She Feared seems to be coming true. As the investigation into the death continues, it looks more and more suspicious. Sara realizes that you can never truly bury the past. It will always come back to haunt you in one way or another. If she wants to keep her family safe, she’ll need to figure out who she really is.
I enjoyed the premise of this story and that it took place in areas familiar to me. However, I had a hard time relating to the characters. They felt a bit flat and clinical, as if it was a story just of facts and not about people. It wasn’t really clear if the story was about Sara and her daughter, or about the police investigation, or about Ryan’s story. If you enjoy Rick Mofina’s other books, then you will probably enjoy this one. But, if you enjoy books about single mothers trying to protect their families from their tragic pasts, I would rather recommend Hide Away by Jason Pinter.
