Find Me: A Hide-and-Seek Book
This beautifully-designed book can be read both backwards and forwards and will offer readers tons of fun with very few words. Author-illustrator Anders Arhoj introduces readers to two characters who quickly decide to play hide-and-seek. From there, Find Me becomes a wordless picture book, and readers can locate both of the characters in each of the picture spreads. There’s one twist: the characters can change color, so you’ll have to find another way to recognize them besides their hue!
The artwork is gorgeous, and Arhoj brings readers through a variety of settings in a variety of color schemes. There’s a boldly colored farm scene, a gray-toned office scene, a pastel riverboat scene, and more. Readers will become engaged looking at the illustrations, even if they have already located the characters. Find Me is uniquely engaging, created with obvious care and imagination, from the big eyes on the cover to the patterned endpapers. This is a strong choice for fans of wordless picture books and interactive books like Where’s Waldo?.
