Fit Men Cook: 100+ Meal Prep Recipes for Men and Women―Always #HealthyAF, Never Boring
Fit Men Cook is a diet cookbook although the author, Kevin Curry, prefers to label it a healthy recipe collection. Curry emphasizes low-fat and low-carb choices. The recipe instructions are easy to follow, and the ingredients are readily available.
Curry includes a lengthy seventy-page introduction, mainly filler, though some of the it is useful; the information presented could’ve been shortened considerably. For example, Curry lists the five pitfalls of healthy eating along with similar tables, charts, rules, and tips. Another issue I have is the suggested prep time; it is too short and should be doubled in my opinion. Curry also uses lots of acronyms that he does not explain. One common abbreviation he uses is “AF” (like in healthyAF). It is difficult for the reader to follow the text and comprehend Curry’s instructions when many of the references aren’t clear. Perhaps Curry will add an index; however, in this preliminary copy, there isn’t one. Last objection—the photo illustrations are nice, but too many include the smiling author. Overall, Curry seems to have good recipes; a few edits would make this a great book.
