Flames of Rebellion
Flames of Rebellion is a military science fiction novel written by Jay Allan. Set in the future, the story takes place under an authoritarian regime called Earth’s Federal America, which rules over several planets and moons. On one of these worlds, called Haven, dissent looms. Haven’s government, led by Everett Wells, tried several times to reach a peaceful and mutually beneficial agreement with their Big Brother, but to no avail. Now, protests against the tyrannical Federal America are about to break out that threaten to plunge the planet into all-out war and have devastating effects on the rest of the galaxy. Now, Wells must do everything he can to keep the rebellion from spiraling out of control.
Flames of Rebellion is a superb and fast-paced read. The plot develops very quickly, and before you know it, you are in the middle of it all. In fact, the plot is so fast-paced and engaging that there is never a dull moment. In addition, Allan develops his characters quite well. All of the book’s characters, even minor ones, are very multi-faceted, with their own emotions, opinions, and agendas, and they each play a very crucial role in the development of the story.
Because Allan’s book is part of a trilogy, the bar is set for further development. Without giving away the spoilers, the plot ends on a point that will hopefully transition to the next novel.
