Franklin’s Flying Bookshop
Imagination brought to life, Franklin’s Flying Bookshop is an amazing story of friendship, the love of reading, and adventure. Franklin may be a dragon, but he’s not scary or a monster. Instead he’s just like every one else–he loves to read and make friends. He’s full of heart and has a sweet, innocent outlook on life. His only real companions are the bats and mice that listen to his stories and the books that fill his cave. His wish is to find others that he can read to, but every time he goes to town, everyone runs away from him. Until he meets a little girl named Luna.
It’s a tale of friendship and is clearly promoting the love of books. It’s heartwarming, with many lessons woven into the story and vibrant illustrations that are full of imagination. It teaches friendship and promotes reading, not judging someone based on how they look (like the villagers did to Franklin), and loving learning. Jen Campbell and Katie Harnett bring to life a lovable dragon in this sweet story that every child will love and that will remind adults of the love and imagination that books bring.
