How Airports Work

So much is going on at the airport. So many people have so many things to do. There are pilots, mechanics, baggage handlers, flight attendants, cooks, food concessionaires, and so many more that all have to work in concert to make this complicated place run. And youngsters are curious about how things work. This book is packed with so much information; it takes a great number of flaps to lift to get all the information needed on the pages. Readers are taken to all parts of an airport including the control tower, the maintenance hanger, the runway and taxiway, inside the airplane, and more. There is a good deal of text on each page, perhaps too much for the typical readers of lift-the-flap books, but those four to six years old will find this a pretty satisfying book. Still, lifting the flap on the airplane toilet is a bit jarring. Each chunk of text has solid, specific information. The illustrations are fun and have lots of details that will keep young readers searching in order to find it all. This will quench the curiosity of many a kindergartner.
