Last Girl Gone: A Laura Chambers Mystery
Last Girl Gone had me guessing to the very end. Laura Chambers goes back to her hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina, only to be tossed around from one crazy person to another. Laura is a reporter for the local Gazette after working at and being fired from a large paper in Boston. One day, the body of a little girl is found. The town is wondering if the murder is connected to the disappearance of other little girls in the past who were not found. Laura goes out to investigate, and despite the fact that the other Gazette reporter is a complete jerk and out to ruin her name in the town, she digs deep and gets her story.
Three quarters of the way through this book and the mystery was solved? J.G. Hetherton throws the reader for a complete loop by adding more information into the story of the disappearance of the girls. With her quick wit and her smart mouth, Laura discovers that this town is not what it seems at all. An overall thrilling story with a powerful main character. I will be waiting for Laura Chambers #2.
