Alec Baldwin has had a career that has spanned 30 years, with acclaimed roles in film, on stage, and on television. He is also known for his outspoken views and tabloid exposure. His autobiography covers many if not all of these areas.

He was born one of six children in Massapequa, NY. His upbringing was lower-middle class–his father was an honest teacher and his mother struggled to raise the family on a smaller income. Alec would bond with his father over movies, and his father would encourage his move to NYU to study acting. The climb up the acting ladder would be filled with the occasional missed step, but Baldwin would persevere with key roles in Knots Landing, Glen Garry Glen Ross, Prelude to a Kiss, and later 30 Rock. His problems with the tabloids would prove a distraction, but his inner strength and new family would be a beacon. Baldwin reveals the hope that family has given him and continues to provide.

Alec Baldwin’s work is a quick read, but it never fails to enlighten. Baldwin doesn’t hide from controversy; his honesty is refreshing even when recounting the uncomfortable tribulations in his life. Readers may not agree with Baldwin, but they will be entertained. A classy biography!!
