One Snowy Day
Two children and a puppy wake up to a very exciting surprise. Overnight, snow has fallen, covering everything outdoors. The children have breakfast and then get into their outdoor clothes and boots before heading out for a day playing in the snow. Once outside, they find six of their friends waiting on the bridge. And then the games begin — sliding and gliding, making snow angels, building a snowman, throwing snowballs, all the while counting up to ten and then back down to one.
This sounds like a simple story, but in the deft hands of author Diana Murray it is written in perfectly metered rhyme with a counting element built into it, and it becomes rather special. This sweet counting book will charm little ones with its clever rhyming couplets and a fun story that goes through the day and tiptoes to bedtime and sleep. It’s a terrific way to help little ones to quiet down for the night. Enchanting illustrations by Diana Toledano perfectly complete the story with mixed media pictures in soft colors and plenty of fun details. Youngsters will love this book and so will the adults who read it to them.
