The Butterfly Girl: A Novel

We rated this book:

Naomi has built quite a reputation for being able to find lost children. Perhaps her success can be linked to the fact that she was a lost child herself, and she is still searching for her sister, the lost child she left behind when she escaped the horror that blocked so many memories. She couldn’t even remember her sister’s name. She was only sure she had a sister, and she needs to find her. Along the way, Naomi has rescued many children and now as she searches, she encounters a child, Celia, who is clearly endangered by her circumstances, and Naomi wants to save her too. But can she save anyone without losing herself?

Author Rene Denfeld has written an astonishingly beautiful story filled with characters so real they will inhabit readers’ consciousness and so damaged they will break readers’ hearts. The writing is simply gorgeous, the story incredibly compelling, and the characters grab on and won’t let go. This is a real nail-biter and page-turner. Clear the decks because once you start reading this book, you won’t want to do anything else until you finish it.
