The Changing World: How it all began
A handpicked group of people is invited to the headquarters of a gaming company to test out what will be the most revolutionary game of their time. When immersed in the game, the players gain abilities and experience sensations that they otherwise would not in real life. The protagonist is able to see colors for the first time in his life.
This book will be a delight for those who love video games. It explores the possibility of being inside a video game rather than creating an avatar to represent yourself in the game. This has the advantage of taking into account all the abilities you already have in the real world and serves to make the gaming experience more lifelike. No doubt such a game would be very addictive.
I give this book a rating of 3 out of 5. I had trouble connecting with the characters. This is a good story but it needs characters that are easier to relate to. I wasn’t that invested in them and I had no particular reason to be rooting for the protagonist.
