The Darkest Warrior
Let me just state that I have not read the previous books in the series. Forgive me if something doesn’t jell with me as I review this. With that said, I want to say that the story is fast-paced and did hold my interest throughout—especially the back-and-forth through time. i am a fan odf time travel. At first, I didn’t feel that Puck and Gillian were well-suited, Being that they were so different but I realize that they truly were perfect for each other. In her short lifetime, Gillian suffered at the hands of others. It is explained later on in the story.
It is Puck who gives her the strength to put all that behind her. With Gillian, Puck was able to feel the tenderness, and, yes, love two qualities lost to him since the demons took over his body, mind, and soul. Puck was destined for more than just war, violence, anger, and hatred that he had an important mission: one that involved young Gillian. She was the second part of the prophecy. It was this child who would change this mighty warrior and make him feel the tenderness and love that he had forgotten so long ago. Gillian, who felt she would never find that forever love, never felt complete and wandered aimlessly. Though she was promised to another, Puck knew he had to destroy him. To take the one promised to him would be just the beginning of destroying William. Gillian, who at first feared the man whose powers could change him into a monster, yet he soon slowly shows her a life she had never dreamed of and she finds tenderness and love and total devotion to her. It is Puck who changes the child into a woman and the woman into a warrior. With her marriage to him, she would become queen. Two lost souls come together to not only to fulfill the prophecy and united clans but bring to each other the elements they lack elements that would make them great. Puck would become king uniting the clans and beside him forever would be his queen to rule for all eternity.
P.S. I plan to read the others the previous books to really enjoy the series.
