The Dream Daughter: A Novel

Carly never expected her life to turn out like this. Her soldier husband recently died in Vietnam and now the doctors are telling her that her unborn baby has a heart defect that can’t be cured. Or can it? Because her brother-in-law has a plan. It sounds crazy, but he’s actually from the future, and while he’s chosen to live out the rest of his life in Carly’s era, he knows how to send her forward in time a few decades so that her baby can receive life-saving surgery. But can Carly really bring herself to do it, to take that leap of faith? In The Dream Daughter, author Diane Chamberlain takes readers on a wild ride back and forth from the 1970s to the early 2000s and beyond. While the time travel system isn’t really described in detail, readers will find they don’t have to understand the mechanics or theory of it to enjoy reading about the results. Carly’s adventure to the future–and her star-crossed attempts to return to her own time–will keep readers on the edge of their seats, wondering what new twist could possibly be coming next.
