The Last Book Party

Eve Rosen is the 25-year-old editorial assistant for a New York publisher. She’s always wanted to be a writer, but suspects she’s not talented enough to really make a go of it. She’s excited to receive an invitation to the summer party thrown by Henry Grey and his wife, Tillie, where all her beloved literati will be in attendance. She’s also excited to meet Henry for the first time after years of professional correspondence for her job. Attending the party changes the course of Eve’s life.

This is a well-written story that offers a glimpse into the neurotic world of writing and publishing. The characters are interesting and deeply flawed in their own distinct ways. Although the climax of the story is quicker and quieter than it could have been, the overall story arc is satisfying and conclusive. It swept me right up into its world and didn’t let me go until the last page. Book lovers, aspiring writers, and current writers will all enjoy this book. Fans of unconventional and twisty romances will also find a compelling story within these pages.
