The Night Trade

Livia Lone is a brilliant detective in the Seattle PD’s Sex Crimes Unit. She is looked up to by her co-workers. Her investigative skills and acumen have led to the apprehension of many nefarious criminals. She is approached by Homeland Security Agent Little who seeks Lone’s assistance on a global scale. Lone is hiding a secret from everybody: her dark past as a sex trafficking victim who was brutally abused along with her sister. Her life’s mission is to bring down the henchmen and masterminds responsible for the trade in children. Dox is a government agent who is tasked with taking out a local kingpin, but he learns he is being lied to. Dox is quick on his feet, so he turns the table on his contact and finds himself hunted. Dox and Livia are on a collision course with the same person of interest. The man they seek is protected from the US government, but their determination to bring him down quells any misgivings. Will they be successful? Time will tell.

The Night Trade is a fast-paced, rip-roaring action thriller. Barry Eisler has continued his excellence in the tales of the covert world. The protagonists are worth rooting for from word one, and the reader will feel like they are ringside for the fight. A+ entertainment.
