The Policeman’s Daughter
The Policeman’s Daughter is packed with drama, action, and suspense. Within the story, we learn more about Sara “Salt” Alt in regards to her past with her father; both uncomfortableness and vivid memories continue to arise in Salt as she meets more people who had known her father. A murder has occurred in The Homes, a regular patrolling spot for Salt, and because she ends up getting close to those that she regularly sees on the job, she feels personally compelled to solve this mystery, no matter how far she has to go; however, in the beginning of the story, she gets injured in a shooting during a routine stop and must deal with the side-effects to her vision and knowing that one wrong move will send her back to working behind the desk. The characters are very entertaining to read about, and I felt like they were put in true situations and seemed very relatable. The target audience for this novel would be young adults all the way through adults in their nineties. There is no cap on readers who enjoy action and excitement!
