The Seduction

We rated this book:

This book might win for the biggest waste of my time this year. The Seduction is about a woman named Beth who is unstable and unlikeable from the get-go. Her extremely nice husband, Sol, gets her to go see a therapist who can help her with her anxiety. Beth’s mother, Lizzie, left her when she was a little girl. The story often goes from present to past in flashbacks that Beth remembers. Beth goes to see Dr. Tamara Bywater at Sol’s suggestion and ends up becoming very obsessed with the therapist. Dr. Bywater tries to keep things professional, but towards the end of her sessions with Beth, she allows a sexy picture of herself on her computer to be seen by Beth “accidentally.” This is when the scandalous relationship between patient and doctor begins. It seems that while Beth was obsessing over Tamara, Tamara was also obsessing and flirting with Beth to lure her in. During the therapy sessions, Tamara seems like a normal, helpful therapist, but little do we know that she is even more of a freak than Beth is.

This book was disappointing due to its lack of interesting characters and boring go-nowhere plot.
