The World’s Most Magnificent Machines
Have you ever wondered what machines are considered the greatest on Earth? If so, The World’s Most Magnificent Machines is the perfect book for you. From early cars, airplanes, and ships to more modern construction equipment and aircraft, this book has it all.
The illustrations are amazing. Each machine has a larger than double page spread showing what it looked like. Smaller illustrations surround the text as well as pages of schematics showing length, height, weight, speed, etc.
The text is fantastic. It gives the reader just enough information to be knowledgeable, but not so much that it’s overwhelming. I appreciated the fun stories about how the inventors tried and failed to achieve success or, sometimes, how the invention just didn’t work in the world we live in.
My seven-year-old son had this to say, “I liked the pictures a lot and the text was good too.”
As a mom, teacher, and librarian, my opinion is that this is a “must have” book if you have a child who likes any type of machinery. I think a child could spend hours soaking it all in and then read it over and over again. It’s a fantastic book!
