This Could Change Everything
When an email written as a joke unintentionally gets sent to her boss, her fiance, and everyone else in her address book, Essie Phillips’s life is suddenly turned upside down as she loses her job, her fiance, and everything that kept her world stable and orderly. Moving to the small English town of Bath, Essie tries to reinvent herself as she is forced to move in with an eccentric new roommate and take a new job where her boss seems to be the person who ruined her life by sending the email. Essie’s life is, in short, complicated.
This is no gloomy tale of woe, however. Instead, it is a big-hearted exploration of what happens when life takes unexpected turns and the ways that people can embrace the changes that come their way. Mansell creates a world full of interesting, realistic characters, resulting in an entertaining, breezy read. This book is full of humor and heart, where all is made right by the end and where everyone who needs to fall in love does so. I was sad to see the story end so soon and can’t wait to return to the literary world that Mansell has created.
