This Mortal Coil
Cat lives alone in a small cabin in the woods. Two years before, soldiers from Cartaxus, an organization dedicated to eradicating the Hydra virus, stormed into her home and took her father and his assistant at gunpoint. When Cole, a soldier sent by her father, tells her of her father’s death and final attempt at a vaccine, she knows she must employ her hacker skills to finalize his work and push out a vaccine that will save the world. But the virus is mutating too fast, and her time is running out.
Set in the future, each person has a panel in their arm on which they can download apps that can change their eye color, correct their skin, or deploy a vaccine. Combining technology and medical science fiction, this story twists and turns more than a DNA strand. Suvada uses current science and medical technology to weave a terrifying tale, and the romance works to offset the horrors of the disease. The cover artwork is of epic proportions, explained quickly and revoltingly. Readers only need wait until October 2018 for the second installment, This Cruel Design, though it cannot get here fast enough.
