We Won’t Be Here Tomorrow: And Other Stories

I’m a huge fan of short story collections. There’s just something magical about being able to inhale an entire story arc on a lunch break that leaves me feeling immensely satisfied with how I’m choosing to spend my time. I almost find it easier to connect with fictional characters and fantastical sci-fi settings when I know I’ll only get them for a few dozen pages before I have to say goodbye.

Since this was my first time reading Margaret Killjoy I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was on Goodreads adding every other book she’s written to my to-read list before even finishing this one. Not only is the queer, trans, and nonbinary representation phenomenal and explicit in almost every story, the stories themselves are written in such a dynamic and lyrical way that every new story feels like stepping through an entirely different Narnia-style wardrobe door in such quick succession that it leaves you feeling dizzy and winded in the absolute best way.

If you like fantasy, dystopian sci-fi, action, horror, or just stories that pack a punch, I highly recommend reading this collection, you won’t regret it!
