Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Vol. 1 (1)
If the zombies come, what will your bucket list look like? What will you want to do before you turn into a zombie? This timely Manga novel asks that question. In Zom 100: Bucket List for the Dead, Akira is worn out, depressed, and disillusioned by the high-pressure job that he’s had for three years. He’s been staying for tons of overtime, for a boss who appreciates none of his workers, and without any fun. As the zombies first arrive, he is worried about not being late to work. Then, he has a realization. No more work! Akira is excited to not have to go work! He sees colors for the first time in years and goes on an adventure to find beer.
This is a simple story, well written, and funny. There is also an undercurrent of seriousness, a look at life, love, and friendships. The recognition of time lost and relationships lost to thankless work is present in a creative way. I would love to read the next book in the series.
